Default Tidy up the story/plot.

As is probably obvious to anyone who's completed Guild Wars PvE campaign, the story doesn't really add up, and there's a lot of loose ends. Also there are several areas in the world which are never used for quests, or at least highly underused (e.g. Majestys Rest, Dragons Gullet, the areas between Grenths Footprint and Beacons...).

How about removing some of the longer & most pointless quests, like "Red Cloaked Deserters", or add more punch to them? Tidying up loose ends like the "Eldritch Sextant" by adding new high-level quests in the underused areas?

And perhaps trying to make the story make some actual sense - for instance, ascending, with all that talk of the gaze of the gods, should really have some more meaning than just getting in touch with Glint.

I agree the plot needs fixing. They can have more inter action or things changed in it.

And at the end we killed the litch, then we killed a titan, now what? Did we save the world?

Yep. Saved the whole world.

Except the Charr are still ravaging Ascalon. And the Mantle still rules Kryta. And the Stone Summit is still around.

But we got the Titans!

Every quest doesn't have to fit into the big picture. Red Cloaked Deserter, Sextent etc, those are just apprenticeship type things.

The missions are the story driven points. The plot is fine and tidy there, if not a bit unresolved at the end.

I think there should be way more quests like Red Cloaked Deserter. They add some feeling of non linearity which is quite a relief in a RPG...

the loose ends im wondering sometimes about is

The Titan that went to Rin (by command from the Lich), was that the Titans at Titan Source, hmm?

Gwen,

Mursat, after all the heroes assisted the Vizir in order to get something powerfull to defeat the whitemantle and the Mursat

The Seer

Glint The Dragon and the Scepter of Orr (the heroes folishly left it behind, but it was taken from its firey destruction -by some Glint)

The Stone Summit, well at least the Golems destroyed the Golem and ruined sorrows forge.

Hey, the only complaint I have of the plot is, it's very inconsistent (think this is the right word for this).

We're Ascalonians, then we go across the Shiverpeaks for this mysterious land called Kryta as a friend of the Dwarves (while killing more dwarves), then we become one of the White Mantle in Kryta. After that, we turn against them, join the Shining Blade, go with the Vizier, then turn against the Vizier.

I mean, there are at least 3 sides per completed character. Can't they keep it to 1 side, and make that more complicated?

Well, it gives the feeling that there was 5 diffrent authors for the world

1 that did pre seering (i really like that non linearity)
1 that did old ascalon and the escape
1 that did white mantle
1 that did the desert
1 that did the end (sorrows cave - hellspreciple)

and only some loose connections in between them

I'm still most interrested in Gwen (that annoying little girl that wants you to buy a new flute for her and give her flowers if you didn't know already ). Note: This post may contain possible spoilers.

- She talks about her mother Sarah, who seems to randomly spawn in the Abbey (pre-searing), saying she needs Myrtle Weed. Next time you portal, she's gone, never to be found until you reach Underworld, where she's asking for Gwen.
- If you give Gwen enough flowers, she'll give you a Tapestry Shred, that says "Quest Item", but as far as I know it's not used for anything.
- Post-searing you can find her broken flute, but no sign of Gwen anywhere.
- Sarah in Underworld doesn't react to either the Tapestry Shred or the broken flute.

Is it just me or is this "quest" missing something? Hopefully it'll be resolved in a later patch, or expansion.

Finally someone with the same thought as me.

To me it sounds like the Devs had alot of good ideas for monsters, stories, plots etc. and then just bunched them all together.

In my opinion, the whole first chapter should've been about the Mursaat and the Titans, and possibly the Lich King. However, the Stone Summit and the Charr should be the main enemies of, say, chapter 3 (after Factions) or something like that. Factions has, as it seems to me, a main story that is to destroy the killer of an ancient emperor. That's way better because it actually lets people get into one story without having to start a whole new one all the time.

To sum up:

- Split the stories and plots, so that instead of 6 in one chapter, have 2 in 3 chapters or 3 in 2 chapters. So it doesn't get too cluttered.

- Go more indepth with those split-up stories. I'd much rather have them go real indepth with the Stone Summit dwarves in one chapter than just breaking the surface of the Mursaat, the White Mantle, the Stone Summit, the Charr and the Undead in one chapter.

Of course that's just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure the Charr threat has subsided (although not gone) considering the fact that they rebuilt Rin after it was completely destroyed by the Charr forces.

Also, it seems to me that the White Mantle was kicked out of Kryta considering you killed the Confessor.

The Mursaat are all probably dead =P

I have to agree here, the plot does need some tidying up. Considering your characters are from ascalon, shouldnt they go back to ascalon when they are stronger (and have friends: Krytian people) and try and finish off the charr? I dunno, it just seems to me like they wanted to put as much in as possible and left out some other things that might have made PvE nicer...
